I met Amy and saw her work in 2001 in Chicago. I was so mesmerized and enthralled by her drawings that I bought her work on the spot. I don’t even want to call them drawings as they are much more compelling, powerful and directional like anatomy of tissues.
They are like living cells that gobble you in and keep you searching for a clue of life. To me, science at its highest degree of complexity meets art and Amy’s work is an ideal presentation of this phenomenon.
Growing up in a family of science and art has reddened her sense of imagination and has burst her curiosity to present us with such mysterious and intriguing work. Her sense of exploration has created these overwhelming apparatuses that are highly feminine open to take you in and dazzle your mind and emotions. They appear as abstract goddesses suspended in the spiritual space with a constant course. They keep you on your toes with your sense of curiosity and imagination.

In close, they are like sophisticated and elaborate webs that you are drawn in looking at them, tangled in your inner mind conjecturing and wondering resulting in no answer. Yet Amy keeps you searching and imagining.
I personally appreciate artwork that keeps me seeking, searching and questioning our phenomenon. For this, Amy is one of my favorite artists because she keeps me on my path.

The perspective of particle physics is one of a universe without “stuff”. All particles exist with the potential to combine with and become different particles. They are intermediate states in a network of interactions and are based upon events, not things. – Amy Myers
